EduStage was set up to teach young people the skills involved in musical theatre performance through original musicals and drama workshops. We offer Holiday Schools throughout the year where young people work on specially written musicals. These are adapted to the group of participants where they are encouraged to develop their skills in acting, singing and dancing. All Schools culminate in a fully costumed performance with sound and lights at a professional theatre or concert hall where family and friends are encouraged to attend.
Our Holiday Schools for young people usually extend over 5 days. No experience is necessary - just lots of enthusiasm and energy! Our participants come from many different backgrounds, some just wanting to do a fun activity in the school holidays, others wanting to gain experience of working with professionals in musical theatre. Numbers of participants are strictly limited but there is no preaudition process and participants are accepted on a first come first served basis. On the first day all participants are asked to sing, act and dance so that we can cast them in the most appropriate part but whatever part they are given, all participants will be fully involved. EduStage has now run Easter, Summer and Half term holiday schools at a number of venues throughout the UK including the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, The Fairfield Halls, Croydon, The Secombe Theatre, Sutton, The Epsom Playhouse, The Winter Garden, Eastbourne, The Arts Centre, Darlington, The Pavilion Theatre, Exmouth, Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells, Martlets Hall, Burgess Hill and The South London Theatre.
